Carrie Landis, Au.D.

Dr. Carrie Landis, Au.D. of Duncan Hearing Healthcare

Dr. Landis is no stranger to the South coast. She brings a wealth of knowledge to Duncan Hearing Healthcare, having practiced audiology in the area for more than 18 years. She grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts where she attended school and graduated from B.M.C Durfee High School.

Keen to extend her education, she received her B.S. in communicative disorders at Worcester State College and then continued on to receive her Master of Science degree at Southern Connecticut State University in 2002.

After working in the South coast area for 10 years, she decided to go back to school and obtain her doctor of audiology (Au.D.) degree from A.T Still University/School of Health Sciences in 2012.

Dr. Landis has experience working with adults of all ages as well as pediatrics. She has experience working with individuals with special needs as well. Diagnostic evaluations, recommending hearing aids, and hearing device fitting and aural rehabilitation are her primary areas of expertise although no one day is the same for Dr. Landis.

From the diagnostic testing of patients hearing, counselling, educating and supporting patients and their families along their journey to better hearing, she is constantly multitasking to meet the needs of her patients.

The fitting of hearing devices is a key part to her role and with each patient she is able to effectively select a device which suits their individual requirements.

As the office manager in the Dartmouth location, she is also responsible for overseeing the day-to-day decisions and duties that keep the office organized.

Her passion for family and community drives her to provide her patients with the highest possible level of hearing healthcare available in the area and she is a key part to the Duncan Hearing team.

While some days are tough, she loves being able to work as part of a friendly, motivated and professional team who make it their goal to put patient’s needs first.

Carrie resides in Somerset with her fiancé Jason and her three children as well as their three cats and dwarf Norwegian bunny. She enjoys cooking, shopping, movies, and intimate time with her family. In the summer, she enjoys relaxing at home and cooking out in her backyard.

She also holds a fellowship with the American Academy Audiology (AAA).

I come from a strong family history of hearing problems and so I asked my sister, who lives outside of our area, but who has worn hearing aids since age 49 and is now 74 what should I look for in starting the process to be tested for hearing aids? She immediately answered, “You need to love your audiologist, and you need a decent hearing aid with a good warranty.” With my sister’s suggestions in mind, I tried another local business and was very disappointed. I started to research online what my choices were and liked what I read about Duncan Hearing Center and so I called and made an appointment.

I can’t say enough about Dr. Landis. She was extremely knowledgeable, took a great deal of time with me in both the testing and explanation of what was going on. She was kind and thorough and walked me through all of my options that would best meet my needs. There are simply no words to describe how delighted I am to have found Dr. Landis and to begin a working relationship with her. The better the communication between the doctor and the patient, the more my needs will be met. In addition, the office staff was very accommodating and helpful. You will not be disappointed in working with Duncan Hearing Center, they are the BEST around…THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!
