Patient Care Coordinator
Ryann Souza is a Massachusetts native and grew up in the famous fishing port of America, New Bedford.
She attended Greater New Bedford Voc-Tech High School and specialized in Early Childhood Education. She recently graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders and a Minor in Special Education. She will be continuing her education at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, FL in the Doctor of Audiology Program.
As an apprentice at Duncan Hearing, she conducts multiple different types of appointments with patients such as seasonal visits and orientations. She is also involved in device activations, where she shows patients how to use and clean their hearing devices properly. When not busy with patients, Ryann works at the front desk answering phones, making appointments, ordering hearing aids, and more.
With each patient, she uses her intuition and open mind to help her tackle any query, ensuring anyone that walks through the door leaves with a smile on their face and is confident in their hearing.
There are many ways in which Ryann thrives in her role, but her favorite thing is being able to help individuals better their quality of life by improving their hearing and overall communication abilities.
It’s hard to believe that Ryann is Duncan Hearing’s newest addition as she has already shown exceptional potential. It’s not uncommon for her to share a special connection with a patient, but the one that stood out was when she fit a specific patient with hearing aids for the first time.
This patient had never worn hearing aids before and had been struggling with hearing loss for quite a while. During her activation appointment, she mentioned to me how she often spends time with her family and babysits her great grandchild but notices she misses sounds or needs to have people repeat to her.
“After having her hearing aids for a few weeks, she was extremely happy with the results. She could not believe how well she could hear. Being able to change this patients’ life for the better was extremely rewarding and I am glad she is now able to enjoy her life and her family to the fullest.”
Outside of the clinic Ryann enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, friends, and family, using her creative abilities, going on adventures outdoors, relaxing at the beach, and playing with her dog Duke.

If I could have dinner with one person either dead or alive, I would have dinner with Anne Frank to be able to hear her tell her story.
