Beyond The Beep Test
Basic hearing evaluations, everyone thinks of the “beep test”, well that’s exactly what you’ll receive, a basic evaluation of your hearing. They simply tell us the lowest level that you can hear a beep. The evaluation tells us little to nothing about how you hear in the real world.
Your Comprehensive Hearing Assessment will go far beyond what a standard hearing evaluation will be able to deduce and provide real world evidence to support that.
What are some early signs of hearing loss?
Those experiencing a hearing loss tend to:
Ask people to repeat themselves more frequently
Struggle to understand conversations in a noisy environment
Often mishear certain words
Believe that everyone around them is mumbling
Have friends and loved ones telling them to turn down the TV
Struggle to understand phone conversations
Experience a constant ringing or buzzing in their ears
Regularly hear others saying, “You need to get your ears checked.”

Understanding How Hearing
Loss Affects Your Life
Studies have shown that untreated hearing problems create barriers to communication, can lead to changes in brain cognition or brain function, can put you at a greater risk of falling, and can lead to social isolation, anxiety, fatigue, and depression.
Underlying issues such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes can further cause hearing issues.
We want to know all about how your hearing difficulties affect you and your relationships and how you feel about it, not just how they affect your communication.
You hear with your ears, but you listen with your brain.
Having this information can lead to better recommendations, more effective options and better outcomes to new patients, and those who have struggled with hearing aid usage in the past.

I’m no longer nodding my head at something I think I heard
To anyone concerned about their hearing, I’d say it would be the best gift you can give yourself and your family. I often tell my husband, “I think I’ll put my hearing aids in now,” and he replies, “I would very much appreciate that”—it’s a standard joke with us.
